These surgical facemasks do not adhere to the countours/shape of the face, but they prevent the escape of respiratory secretion droplets from mouth and nose. They are intended to prevent the wearer from contaminating the environment , as they limit the transmission of infectious agents (The so-called altruist).
They are commonly used in hospital environments , as well as in several places where assistance is provided to patients, such as elderly homes, clinics, etc.
